Betty Goodfallow, my maternal grandmother, absolutely loved pretty things. She spent her career working in a department store and had a home decorated with trinkets and knickknacks. She gifted Christmas ornaments, had a jewelry box full of costume jewelry, collected teddy bears and taped funny sayings and comics on the refrigerator. She taught me to appreciate little joys.
Bradley James Perzanowski, my youngest brother, tragically died at the age of 25. He taught me how short life can be. He made me realize that if I don't chase my dreams today, I may never have the chance.
My name is Laura Ruban. I also love pretty things. I try to live each day to the fullest. I love to give people in my life meaningful gifts. I've always had a dream of opening a boutique, full of trinkets and pretty things. I am excited to present this dream I'm calling "Betty James" in honor of my beloved grandmother and brother.
